Saying Hello
Hi from the area near Shreveport Louisiana. We had a normal garden last year all fenced in to protect it from deer but soon the garden was overrun with weeds. Last summer's drought was deadly and even with soaker hoses, timers, and yard mulch, the plants took a major toll. My wife and I came the SF garden book last fall and decided to give it a try this year. My first 4 x 4 garden is completed and yesterday, I finished bldg my first protective cage, finding the parts for the trellis, still need to get the nylon netting from this site or via Home Depot. I look forward to learning and sharing stories with everyone.
Regards,
Brian

Welcome from the far north. You'll be able to get an earlier spring start than many of us who will be filled with envy. Enjoy the new gardening method.

Welcome from Ohio. I think you will like this method very well over the traditional garden. Let us know how it goes for you.

Welcome!
Glad you've read the book! Did you have any trouble finding the ingredients for Mel's Mix in your area?

I have seen women looking at jewelry ads with a misty eye and one hand resting on the heart, and I only know what they're feeling because that's how I read the seed catalogs in January - Barbara Kingsolver - Animal, Vegetable, Miracle
