Now that I've finally learned about how to Grow tomatoes and the differences between in the types I've decided to start my own from seed next year. After being directed to tomatofest.com by several forum members, last night I spent 3 hours on their website going through the 600 different types of tomatoes they have. I have it down to 23 different varieties as of right now in my wish list.

Oh btw i'm a little bit of an extremist and I think I'm gonna need more Boxes Very Happy

Not to mention a bigger deck to put them on!

For that many plants (and we know the number is going to get bigger!), thinking about some dedicated tomato boxes and deciding what your favorite trellis system is, might become the next step.

And don't forget another resource for tomato seed......this forum.

We have a seed swap thread later and gardeners share their seeds, both bought and saved, with others on the board. All kinds of seeds, from broccoli to watermelon. They can attest to how the crop does in their area having grown them before.

I ended up with 50 varieties of just tomatoes this year so planted one of each of about 24 varieties and am saving seed on those that are OP (open-pollinated). I saved a few varieties of seed last year which I didn't bother to plant this year but they are there when I want them.

My family and I are doing taste tests of the different ones as they come ripe so I remember what we really liked, what is very prolific, and what I'll remove from my personal list.

You won't be short of seeds, that's for sure.
