Fantastic job. And I love the entire place is fenced in. I really need to do that too. Critter cages are wonderful for a few boxes with my 80 squares. I want more boxes and opening one door to the garden would be more convenient.

Re: 1st year SFG and NEVER going back!
Thank you everyone for the kind comments! I am especially proud of this project because I built most of it and feel it is quite an accomplishment!
@CapeCoddess: Feel free to use any of the photos you like. Further back in the posts, I posted a diagram of the layout that I had put together on the computer. I am not sure if you saw that or not.
I keep telling myself, ok, now its finished, but then I think of just one more thing...like (done these already)... speakers in the greenhouse, so I can listen to my music, lighting so I can be out there at night, and then the watering issue, so now Thursday Mr. Landscaper materials will be here, and I won't have to worry about watering.
I have lost the room for seating inside, so I am thinking a mini stone & sand patio outside of the door would be nice...a blackberry patch around the outside of the north end (32 ft)... wi-fi so I can stream pandora out there...but those have to wait til next year... maybe...

I'd wait forever on the blackberries...still fighting a blackberry vine that keeps appearing in my yard.

I will keep that in mind. I may line the bottom of that one with something it can't get through so if it tries to spread it will be shot down.

Thanks, Pepper, I got a big ole laugh out of that. Just don't show her unless you plan on getting started...
The WiFi is just for listening to my favorite artists on Pandora, or googling while gardening!

I just read this thread! My hat is off to you and your garden. The misses has always want some more space; looks like I just found out how to make it happen. With a wifi setup you could stream video updates. Where did you get the solar lamp parts? I really liked that 'touch'.

Solar lights...
For that one I just used a pint wide mouth mason jar. Put the solar light upside down in the bottom (sans stake), fill with marbles, top with lid and ring, and flip upside down. The hardest part is finding solar lights skinny enough to fit. You can also use canisters, or anything else that has a watertight seal.
Thanks for looking all through the thread. It really isn't 1st year SFG anymore, since this is year 2 but I can't change the topic title, and don't want to loose the thread.

nice garden...very clean, neat, and organized. How many beans did you do per square? I tried several spacings (four, five, nine) and I can already tell it will be a challenge to get them all picked.

I did six per square this year. Last year I did nine, but it was too crowded and they didn't do well. Thank you for asking, and for liking the garden!
