They're beautiful!! Someday........ I would like to do that. They'd have to be in the same location, cause my deck doesn't get enough sun.

Re: Table top gardens
Marcy,
Your table tops look great. Nice job. Table tops are the best as far as I am concerned, convenient height to save my back and knees, away from some bugs (not all of course) and easy to protect from weather and pests.
Between your Table Tops and deck rail planters, you have got a lot of veggies in one small area.
Please keep us updated as things grow and mature.

Re: Table top gardens
I love your setup, I was wanting to do a table top garden on my deck as well. Do you have any drainage problems with the boxes being on the deck? I am very new to this and I'm not sure how to get started yet.

This is my second year having them on my deck, The boxes themselves have drainage holes and the deck has small slats in between the boards. So I haven't had any problems. I love having the TT's I had knee surgery a few years back Plus it keeps any unwanted critters out of my garden. Good luck with your garden

Beautiful garden. How is the bottom constructed to hold the weight of the planter mix?

Thank You, The bottom is just 3/4 inch plywood and the 4x4 legs are under the box an inch in from the corners. my first boxes I built last year have held up great. I know they will only last me a few years but they didn't cost much to build.

July 4th update
Garden is doing great. Had what looked like early blight on a couple tomato plants and what looked like the start of powdery mildew on my zuc plant sprayed with copper and everything seems to be fine. Keeping a watchful eye

What a great setup. Do you mentally build a nice glass addition with the idea of extending the season?
