Everbearing Strawberries

There is a ton of info on June bearing strawberries but very little on Everbearing. Junebearing is supposed to be mowed down each year, but supposedly not Everbearing. Last year I planted a 4x4 box of Everbearing and I have runners like crazy that are spreading into the next box. After I harvest the peppers that are in that box this fall I am planning on making the second box strawberry, but don't know if I should do anything to the first box. Should I thin them? Trim them Cut runners? Suggestions on Everbearing strawberries????

What variety of everbearing did you plant? Since the plants are now one year old, you might let each "mother" plant send out one runner, but cut the rest off to encourage the plant to use its energy for berry production. When you see the offspring has taken root, cut its "umbilical" cord and move it into the new bed(s). With two or more beds, start scouring cookbooks for recipes! Oh, home grown and ripened strawberries taste sooooo good, many don't even make it into the house. strawberries - Everbearing Strawberries 959632
