Gardening shoes
Does everyone have their own favorite kind of gardening shoes?
I've been wearing a pair of Okabashi sandals that I bought in 1986. This spring one side of the rubbery basketweave started to split. I've been duct-taping it together but it keeps coming off. (Hubby has always hated these shoes. He says they are the same kind that prisoners wear. I can't tell you how much more he hates them with duct-tape on them. They may not be the sexiest-looking shoes, but they sure are comfortable, and as Goosegirl said in another thread, you've got to love hoseable shoes.)
I finally bit the bullet and checked online to see if they still make them, and wonder of wonders, they do! I found some on sale for $10, so of course I bought two pair to save even more money.
If the new ones last as long as the first pair, these should do me for the rest of my life, or at least until I'm 106.

ooooh, Thanks for the tip Ander! I like the facts that these are made in Georgia USA and use some recyclable and recycled materials. I think I will be ordering some!!!
Re: Gardening shoes
I got a chance to try my 'hoseable' shoes this weekend before the snow hit again yesterday. Can't wait until the white stuff is gone and I can live in those comfy things!

I bought mine from safetysolutions.com. Shipping on the two pairs was $8.
I haven't yet broken the news to Hubby. Poor guy. He thinks he is about to see the last of my rubber shoes. (Hee, hee.)
