Why is this region so darn big?

Does anyone know? I'm looking for other Michigan gardeners ... maybe they are still sleeping, blanketed by yet another snow storm, like me!

Haahaa! Yes still blanketed here near flint. And this region is huge and varies so much! I find I have more weather commonalities with minnesota than those to the south

LOL. Right, it does cover a lot of acreage. But, if we had just an "Alaska" forum, we would probably still hear the same question. Shocked

You could probably start a thread entitled, "Michigan SFG'r searching for Michigan SFG'r" and probably pull them all out of the snow banks.

Hey chocolatepop! Now at least I don't feel so alone!

Backyard, you're right ... I could start a new thread ... probably just complaining to make up for my lack of garden plans so far.

I guess my biggest questions for the upcoming season are:

I have a large rhody to move ... should I do it now (when thawed I mean), or wait till fall?

And ROSES; after not having any for many years, I've decided to give it a go again. Any advice on where to buy? I'll be looking for varieties for cutting.

This is good ... I feel a plan coming on!

TessMick, In general, rhodys grown in cold climates should be transplanted in the early spring. If you live in a warm climate, late summer to late fall to give them a chance to grow more roots before winter sets in.
