If this doesn't bring a tear to your eye & a sigh of pride, I don't know what will.

Great story -- I'm inspired by her philanthropy and by her giant cabbage! I notice she's row gardening... maybe she could grow even more in the same space with SFG?

Oh wow! Thanks Jenn.
I just watched an e-video of Lisa Ling at a tent camp in California. Mostly people who are new to being homeless because of the US job situation. People who just long for some aspect of their old life while coping with the new. God bless (and inspire the rest of us) those like Katie who reach out.

At my school I had two girls from Columbia who went with their family every year to Porta V___ (SP? resort town in Mexico), not to stay in a hotel and enjoy the beaches, but to go to the cardboard huts in the huge garbage dump behind the hotels, to put in water (a church project) with a public shower because, "no one likes to feel dirty" they said. That was kewl, but what impressed me was they decided on their own (3rd and 5th grade) that since mom and dad bought them new clothes every year, they should be VERY careful with what they choose and how they take care of what they have so that they can take nice things to children who make due from the dump. No one asked them to do that.

The things children do that inspire ME.

Katie and other children are such an inspiration to us all!

Her story also brought tears to my eyes.

We must all learn from one another and give whenever we can.

Happy Gardening Everyone....
