Perfect technique for "city girl"
I just LOVE square-foot gardening!! This is our second year using the method, and we (the hubby and I) now have 7 4x4 plots and 3 deeper 1x2 boxes for carrots. I LOVE not getting muddy and having such great, neat organized rows and boxes... without all the weeding!!! I love it so much that I even wrote an article all about it for one of our city's local websites! Click here for pictures of my garden and more details, too - http://omaha.net/articles/accidental-gardener

carrot boxes
Our carrot boxes are 12" deep. Our regular beds are 6" deep, so we only grow BABY carrots in the regular bed. Thanks for the tip about emailing Alan...will do

For real foodies, your own garden, and herb bed, are a real treat.
Re: Perfect technique for "city girl"
Christy, yes my SFG is on my roof, if you search dstubbs as author in the advanced search you can see lots of pôsts about it. Unfortunately, my SFG is struggling, but I`m determined to make it work.
