I cannot spend another cent on soil ingredients. However, I have enough wood to make one more box. I also have a trashcan full of partially decomposed compost (a mix of grass, food, yard clean up, tea, etc.) and one almost full bag of store bought compost. I was thinking of just dumping the trash can into he box (a la lasagna gardening) and topping it off with the compost and calling it a day. The perhaps spending a little on worms and throwing them in. What do you think?

Instead of spending a little on worms, might I suggest you spend it on another bag of compost -- that will give you three sources. If your own compost isn't completely worked, then a 3" layer of mature compost will protect your seeds and seedlings from getting burned.

Excellent idea. The worms are in the ground, them I can get for free. 4-6 bucks on one more bag of compost is a good idea. I already set everything up. The compost I already had in the can was farther along than I thought so that was good.
