Long Time Square Foot Gardener
Found Mel's book in the library in the early 80's. Thought I would try it as I was tired of fighting weeds in my in-ground garden.
I have used everything from railroad ties to cinderblocks for raised beds. Now I am using 5/4 plastic boards. I do use a lot of self watering containers also.
i have been gardening for 70+ years. I can remember helping my grandparents with their truck patch (15 acres) in the spring and summer before I started school. I have 250 various plants ready to go out in the garden shortly. I supply several friends at church with plants.

Re: Long Time Square Foot Gardener
Hello! Welcome to the forum! I too started in the late 80s with a 4x4 made with RR ties and the original SFG book. Now utilizing various raised beds and containers, as well. I still get tired of the weeds though…
We would love to see some pictures, as sanderson said!
