The largest Butternut Squash I have ever grown was 12 pounds. Can't imagine one over one hundred pounds! Shocked

When I was a kid, I heard of a technique to "milk" gourd plants. You tap a wick into the stem of the gourd and then the other end goes into a nutrient. In the case I read it was milk, and the plant was a pumpkin. I always wondered how a gourd could make use of milk. I never got around to trying this myself.

I suppose they check for such tampering at events like the state fair.
