layout design ?....
Being this is my first yr of SFG, I am going to go with 2 4x4' beds.
One will be half strawberries, half "salad" veggies.
The other bed will include a trellis. I read that the trellis should go on the north side - I get that - but, would it be okay to have an "L-shaped" trellis design in which the trellis ran along the north and east sides of the bed?
I am thinking it'd work since the sun is so strong in the west, but am I overlooking something?
Is that okay to do ......or will the SFG police come after me?

LOL The only SFG police is your conscience: when something in the garden goes poorly, it says to you "Self, you should have followed the instruction!"
People do plant on other sides of the box sometimes. Usually, it's on the west side in order to shade more delicate plants. Morning sun is kinder to plants.

Re: layout design ?....
My only concern would be the ability to reach the squares blocked by the trellis. Unless, of course, you're just using a 2 deep instead of the 4x4

Re: layout design ?....
My trellis is on the east side. (Shhh don't tell anyone - especially the SFG police.) It worked just fine until the dreaded and evil squash vine borer moth (that's daesvbm for short) showed up and destroyed all my cucurbits!
