figure cu ft in a bag of compost that is in lbs
Hi Everyone,
So happy to have found this forum! I just started my square foot garden and need help trying to figure out how many cu ft a bag of composted manure that weighs 30 lbs is. I can't seem to find an answer when I google it.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks so much

Hi, Kulakat, and welcome to the forum! In general, a 40 pound bag of compost is considered to be .75 cu ft. At that rate, a 30 pound bag would be 3/4 of .75 cu ft, or .56 cu ft. Fortunately, many of the bags of compost list both the weight and volume, but those that don't leave us estimating the equivalent.

Thank you so much for your reply! It can be confusing when they aren't consistent
