April 1, 2019 in Springfield, Vermont: Late February-like! Or like March 1st, instead of like April 1st!
It's sub-0 C as I'm typing this!
At this time, it don't look like it will be worse than April, 2003 and it don't look like it will be bad like April, 2007.
Actually, at this time, it looks like no snowmageddon nor semi-snowmageddon in sight.

Okay, so this guy has been here all winter, but I just couldn't resist. This is the view from my kitchen window. That's last year's basil in the pot. It was doing fine until I didn't realize it was under the eaves and not getting a drop of the rain that saturated everthing else. It is still trying to make a comeback, and now it's out where the rain can find it.

That is interesting - this year, for the first time in the 30+ years we have lived here, the deer have been eating our Iris plants. They must be hungrier than usual.

BUMMER! I guess nothing's really safe. I put our pineapple plants out there, thinking the deer would leave them alone -- not -- they don't eat them, but they play with them I guess, cuz every day they're in worse shape, so we need to move them somewhere else.
