It seems strange to see finished corn when mine wouldn't have even sprouted yet (even if the squirrels hadn't eaten them).

Thanks TD and Sanderson.  The tomatoes I have harvested so far are the early planted ones I used season extension methods to get them to ripen way before normal.  None of the tomatoes planted at the correct time have ripened yet except the Juliet grape tomatoes.

Tomato harvest is starting to overload me.  But many of the tomato plants now are slightly diseased due to all the rain over the last two weeks.  So I harvested all tomatoes that were blushing, then cut off all the diseased leaves and fertilized all pots.  Tommorrow I will spray with a fungicide.  But first I will have to spray with an insecticidal soap because my tomatoes now have red aphids, small white flies and a few small caterpillars.

Early Girl and Juliet Tomatoes harvested over the last few days.

Brandy Boy tomatoes harvested over the last few days.
brooks, GA - 2017 SFG in Brooks, Ga - Page 5 Tomato25

I will also have to spray with insecticidal soap on beans which have spider mites and some kind of baby caterpillars.  Also Sweet Potatoes will be sprayed with BT because for the first time ever they have small caterpillars eating the leaves.

Just thought I would show my Tomato Wagon tomatoes.  These tomatoes are now at the top of the Texas Tomato cages and are 8 feet tall.  No suckering here.  But the bottom leaves are now getting early blight so I have been cutting them off.

Nope, I was wrong.  The Early Girl is on the left, Brandy Boy on the right.  Look at the size and number of those green Brandy Boys.

Rattlesnake Beans have reached the top of the 8 foot trellis.

Corn Harvest - bed 1a and 1b.  Planting early sure worked on this bed.  This was the final harvest on bed 1.  For bed 1, I harvested 32 ears from 32 plants.  The kernels on tips of about 25% of the ears were not fully formed but overall, they were filled out enough to provide a usable ear.

Artichokes - first time I have ever gotten any artichoke to actually grow.    Imperial Star.  Planted inside in small pots on 1/10/17.  On 3/20/17 I set them in the garage refrigerator (temp 40*F) for 2 weeks and then planted outside in large pots around 4/1-4/15.  It is still small but so cute.

Adorable! I love you This is my first year with artichokes. I bought nursery plants, but gonna plant some seeds this summer for a couple more, then plant them out this fall (I hope). Here is one of my babies. Can't wait to see what her babies look like. brooks, GA - 2017 SFG in Brooks, Ga - Page 5 3170584802

Update on my Tomato Wagon tomatoes.  Planted in the garden

I added a 2 foot extension to the top of my Texas Tomato cages.  The cages are now 10 feet tall and the tomatoes are about 1 foot from the top.

We are overrun with Summer Squash.  I decided to take the 5 squash I harvested today and make some baby food for my soon to be second grandson.  Steamed, pureed, put in ice trays, froze and then sealed in my Foodsaver.  Tomorrow will be Zucchini Baby Food day.
