Today's Forecast (Horseshoe Bend)
http://www.wunderground.com/q/zmw:37221.1.99999?sp=KTNNASHV69
High Temperature--95-102
Heat Index--100-110
Pollen Count--Very High
Mold Count--Very High
Pollution--LA has better air quality
Chance that the isolated shower will fall on the garden-ha ha ha

Other--Baseball game tonight at 7:00  Have to arrive at 5:30 for my job and pressbox has little air conditioning since the windows are kept open for crowd noise for TV & both radio networks.

At 6AM, it was already oppressive.  Why 40,000+ people desire to move to this metropolitan area every year escapes me.  The extra traffic and pollution they bring unfortunately does not.

As if we don't have enough mammalian pests, our area now has a confirmed bear sighting.  He was seen going through yards looking for food and seemed to have no fears when people began getting videos and pictures.

When SFG Gardening Is Too Hard Empty Re: When SFG Gardening Is Too Hard

Yep, that temp and humidity can be oppressive. Even the 80 degree with 90 percent humidity we are going to go thru this week is rough for any length of time.

I was having some breakfast this last Friday morning and my dog came downstairs from the bedroom raising cane, usually means something is in the yard. We went to the one window that was open and he could see out of and I could 'smell' what it was, a black bear, looked to be about a 250lb female with her nose caught in one of the bird feeders I had just put out for the day. He barked a couple more times and the bear headed for the woods with the feeder still attached, looked like a muzzle on her nose and as usual with things like that, couldn't get to the camera quick enough.

Anyways, all the best with your 40k new neighbors every year, I just can't imagine.

We get a few black bears coming down from the NGA mountains every year.  I think we've had 4 or 5 on the news so far this spring.

It's in the mid-90's with high humidity here today too...  Thank God for a/c!

When SFG Gardening Is Too Hard Empty lovely weather - not

Post  kauairosina 6/16/2015, 6:32 pm

What onerous weather.  Maybe have to garden under lights at night?  Poor plants must be suffering.
