melon harvest
After all my bragging about the best year ever for tomatoes, cuc's and peppers I harvested all my melons Friday and cut one up to eat. That was 50% of the harvest, a total of two and one is really small. I only grew two vines and they were on the same trellis as my cuc's and the flowers looked almost identical to the cucumber flowers so I have no idea why two vines produced two melons.

Re: melon harvest
This past spring was the first time I got to eat home grown melons. Smaller & fewer than I wanted but mine all the same, added a lot more compost this time. I have a few more started for the fall season. These are Athena cantaloupes, have my fingers crossed for a better harvest.

Re: melon harvest
Maybe bad timing with the flowers? I've had a devil of a time trying to catch a female and a male open at the same time on my zucchini this year.
