Winter finally got the best of me yesterday. No, it wasn't the -16 last month or the snow which we have not had all that much of, it is the wind. After a week of wind, some gusts over 50 mph, we have had wind in the high 30,s yesterday and continuing on last night. Last week it took the north facing roof off my older greenhouse. Yesterday the east wall started to separate so I opened the door to relive the pressure. Well last night the wall came apart and is a twisted mess. It was still dark when I left for work so I couldn't full asses the damage but it looked unrepairable this morning. Also just for icing on the cake, yesterday afternoon I carried out a load of scraps for the compost pile and both compost bins had collapsed onto the piles. These I can fix if the wind would ever quit. Mad

Oh no Johnp.  That's not fun.  Best wishes with the repairs.  Think Spring, March 20th.

My wind experience pales in comparison. Heavy wind took a piece of house siding and rearranged the front porch vinyl railings. Vertical spindles partially detached and were all tilted over. Weird.  Set one back in place and 4 others fall out. Repeat.  Then that's when I walk away and Rick fixes it.

So sorry to hear about the devastations John and I hope you can make the repairs without too much difficulty. I can compensate for just about every force weather deals me except for winds and floods, they always win. Like LM said.... Think Spring! It cannot get here fast enough for me.

Thanks all. The greenhouse is used for a potting shed and I had all my trays and pots out to plant this weekend. I hope all that stuff is ok. When the wind first started Plantoid was having such a terrible time with the rain and water everywhere my problem is nothing compared to his. I was hoping to trade 5 days of wind to 50 mph, with no humidity, that would guarantee a complete dry out of everything for three days of rain but I guess that's to hard to do.
