Additional Fertilizer???

Additional Fertilizer???
I had Mel's mix shipped in by UPS and wonder if I will need any additional fertilizer (Miracle Grow) during the growing season or will his compost, which is included in his mix, be enough fertilizer. :scratch:

If you feel you need to add anything to give the prepackaged Mel's mix a boost, compost is the way to go. Do you have the All New Square Foot Gardening book yet? Mel's recommendation is to add homemade compost or a compost blend... IT is a certainty that Miracle-gro mix is not compost.

I think that you should be fine with not adding anything to it...it is made by Mel right cant go wrong there...but if you do see that your plants look a little down add some compost around the plant and scratch it in gently. Good luck to you!! And please let us know how well it grow I have considering just ordering Mel mix or making a trip to UT to get some not sure if it would be cheapest way to go though...

I paid 40.00 to ship 4 bags. Hopefully it will be available closer to my home here in L.I. next year.
