Yellow spots on brand new strawberry plants
I'm new to SFG'ing but have my beds all ready to go. I've planted a few things so far and so far okay. I have a question about these brand new strawberry plants I just put in. They are seascapes and I planted the bare roots. Not sure I did these right but they have been in for a little less than a week. Leaves are starting to come out but I noticed they have a yellow spotted pattern on some of them. Could this be caused by a bad MM? If so, do you think I need to add more compost or something. I've mixed the MM with using as many varieties of compost as I could get but it's mostly cow and mushroom. Just not sure if I got it all right.... Anyway, do you think these strawberry plants will survive? Thanks in advance Linda

Well, huh....
There are some species with varrigated foliage, but I don't know that this is one of them. Are you seeing it on all the leaves? I don't think is a result of MM. Where did you get them???
It is also precedented, see below.

I ordered them straight from Burpee.com and planted them the next day.

Hm... it may well be worth letting them play out for a week or more to see how things go, if it persists or not. Then, if it is persistant, email burpee with a photo and ask what's the story........lalawson wrote:I ordered them straight from Burpee.com and planted them the next day.
Do all the leaves have this issue?

No not all the leaves are showing this. I'll check tomorrow and see the percentage. Thanks

Gosh, I think I'd get the toll free # for them and arrange to send them back. If it's the virus, there's no cure. They may want a pic of them, which you have. Let us know how things go with Burpee.
