What could that be or who could do that??? I am fairly new to veggie gardening but I have never seen that problem before and I am puzzled Shocked
I planted radishes, beans, kale, lettuce in my greenhouse about 3 weeks ago.....and some plants came up....but got eaten and there is an indentation around the plant as if someone would press an egg into the soil...radishes are still standing in this dip, but not growing anymore.
I am thinking it must be a critter....but I don't know which one and what to do about it.
I have the greenhouse door and vent open during the day, closed at night.
Anyone have any ideas????

How big is the indentation? Is there a way you can take pictures? Do you have some sort of wire mesh on the bottom of your bed?

Sounds like young birds eating tender green shoots for the sugar content , try a 1/4 inch mesh netting or similar to keep them off

Snakes or lizards will enjoy the warmer temperatures of a greenhouse.

Wish we were in a climate with lizards...we do have some snakes though.
But right now we have a max of 10 C and snakes are still out cold. Very Happy
So the mystery continues Laughing

I have some holes, about 2in x 2in, they are from squirrels. My first yr for squirrels bothering my stuff. they will eat sm. veggies and dig to look for acorns. Don't know how to get them to leave things alone.
