Lacing a trellis Empty Lacing a trellis

Greetings all. I am going to be lacing my own trellis, as I am not too keen on the nylon netting. Also, for simplicity sake, when my peas are done producing, I plan on cutting the lacing and composting the whole mess. I found Skippy's Garden blog and she has some nice ideas on lacing http://carletongarden.blogspot.com/2007/04/constuction-of-pea-trellises.html

Do any of you have a good lacing strategy? Smile

I was planning on doing something like that for my tomatoes, but using pvc pipe instead and some netting I bought for 3$ at Walmart

I use conduit, and twist wire on the bottom to provide a tying place for the twine. Then I did the up and down zig zag with cross pieces every six or so inches. It's not very pretty, but once it is covered with cukes and peas, I figured no one would know the difference. I'll take a pic later and post it.
