Chili Powder
I had a real good year growing peppers, sweet and hot. So I'm in planning mode for the coming spring.
Does anyone know how to make chili powder? What kinds of peppers do I need to grow to make this? I usually buy store bought, then add cayenne pepper to mine only for some heat.
I took all the hot peppers I grew this yr(don't even know names for them, it was a Hot Pepper mix), dried them, chopped with coffee grinder, and this is what I will use for heat this yr.
Thanks, Jo

Re: Chili Powder
i use to thread them on a string and hang them to dry. them when making chili i'd just pull a couple off and crush them into the pot. just don't rub your eyes till you've washed your hands, lol

My local Walmart from time to time has BIG bags of the various chiles... beautifully dried, flexible and fragrant. They work wonderfully using these techniques...
