Hurricane Isaac ..... Seriously??
Just got the first beds in 2 1/2 weeks ago and beans are over 2 foot high and tomorrow here comes hurricane Isaac. Seriously?? I think this is one time where the Mels Mix is not going to help those little buggers stay rooted, especially in 75+ mph winds.
On the bright side, it's overcast and breezy today, great time to finish making the all the rest of the garden boxes.
Good Luck tomorrow to the rest of our west coast Floridians. Remember hurricane Charley didn't follow the projected track... (took a surprise right turn and we got a direct hit). Be prepared for anything and stay safe.

Hi Donna,
Just make sure that your mm in wet before the winds come and it should stay put. I would say put rocks or maybe a mulch layer on top, if you have it.
The beans should be fine if it just lays them down, hope Issac moves thru fast and all will be fine. Good luck! We are hoping it goes west instead of east.

Gosh, woke up to rain bands off hurricane Issac! Won't get any wind here. It is a very big storm, so the Gulf coast residents take care and heed the warnings. Wishing you'all the best of luck.

I told my wife " the corn is now about 4 foot tall and I think Issac will lay the corn down." She said if that is all that happens to us with Issac then she will be happy. Last major hurricane, we were out of power for a week.
Good Luck to all in Issac's path!

Hey Donna,
Know how you feel, my fall garden is looking good, haven't picked anything yet but it looks promising! Hope we don't get hit either- Rita did a severe number on us, came in directly south and hit our area hard! Here's hoping it fizzles out and doesn't hit anyone!

All safe and sound here! Looks like they got a beating to the east of us though. My son-in-law works for a local electric coop and will be leaving early in the morning to help in getting people back in electricity. How did everyone else fare?
