Gypsum?

I have a bag of gypsum and was wondering if I could use it on my compost pile to help it heat up?

The gypsum would be a good addition, but I use a very small amount of dried blood as a compost activator.

Gypsum is mainly used as a soil softener for Clay here in Texas!

You can add gypsum around peanuts to give calcium so shells can be made.
