Hello from Victoria Australia
Hi,
I have only just discovered this site.
I have been SFG without knowing it except not using Mel's mix, which sounds very interesting.
I live in a big regional town with limited gardening space. I have raised garden beds, and grow lots of vegetables. And this past couple of years have dabbled in some hydroponics as well. I have a small non heated hot house, where i germinate seeds to plant out in the raised garden beds, and do grow some vegies inside the hot house as well.I am lucky enough to have fairly unlimited access to cow poo, and straw, as we have a small farm a short way out of town. I am really looking forward to sharing/learning from other keen gardeners.
Cheers Wilson

Good morning - and welcome.
I'm new to SFG but I have enjoyed the forums and the help people gladly provide. Take the time to read through the various topics. Lots of good stuff there.

You sound a bit like me, I had been doing the square foot gardening thing with raised beds and close planting for a long time, but this year I have switched many of my beds over to mels mix.
Sounds like the SFG method is well suited to your local, in being able to grow more per square foot.
I also germinated my perennials this year for the flower gardens in my greenhouse,(minimally heated, I live in a cold climate with -20 celcius winters.
Do you have cold winters?

Re: Hello from Victoria Australia
Thanks for the welcome everyone,
I am really looking forward to finding my way around the site and meeting other like minded gardeners. I could happily spend all my time poking around the garden.
Yes we have cold Winters, but no snow where i am, the temperature varies between about -5 overnight in Winter, with days around 10-16 and up to 45 degrees Celsius in Summer. So a wide variation, and we do get plenty of frosts.
I am definitely going to try MM,that sounds interesting.
