My French fingerling potato plants have started to die back. Would it be OK to dig around in the bin to see if the potatoes are ready to harvest?

When the plants are about done, I always feel around and get a few of the new potatoes. My uncle calls this grabbling. I always thought this was a funny word.

I'll take that as a yes. My bins are 24" tall so it will be interesting to see what has developed at what level.

Next year I'm going to make dedicated potato bins that have removal boards...this year was "live and learn"
