Hello to everyone! I am located on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and am new to gardening. I purchased the book, built two 4 x 4 plots out of leftover material, and did my best to make Mel's Mix (went with "medium" grade vermiculite because I could not locally locate the "coarse" grade).

I am excited to begin, and pleased that this forum exists. Very Happy I have been lurking for months, but decided to go ahead an jump in!

Where abouts on the Eastern Shore are you located? I live right on the state line of VA and MD myself. Really liking it out here so far ... well except for the 40 mile drive to the nearest decent movie theater / mall (Salisbury).
