HELP! Potatoes
First time potato planter...
Based on research and advice, I cut my seed potatoes and left them out to dry in the window sill before planting (without fungicide or sulfur - those I spoke to told me it wasn't necessary in SoCal). Today the cut sides are drying but are mostly black. Are they ok to plant??
Thanks in advance!!!

Re: HELP! Potatoes
Black is ok as long as the cut side is drying out and not slimey.
Potatoes oxidize, that is why when you shred potatoes, you soak them in water until you are ready to cook them.

Re: HELP! Potatoes
WHEW! Thank you! I'd seen oxidation to orange-brown, but never black! Makes sense.
