Hope y'all don't mind if I "bump" this thread...it took me a few 'search option' tries to find it so
maybe this will expedite it for the next person...

Re: Show us your kitchen compost container
I have 2 waste baskets under the kitchen sink -- 1 for garbage and 1 for recycles, so my space is limited. Our son gave us a couple of antique Tupperware containers from an estate sale that work perfectly for under-sink compost, because they have straight sides, so they don't take up as much space as my old bowls. One is for coffee grounds and the other for everything else. It all goes to the chicken coup, but this way the food scraps aren't covered with coffee grounds for the hens. I've never had those little gnats that someone complained about, so I don't need lids.

I use buckets in the garage....really self-explanatory. Mostly coffee grounds and filters and veggie offing’s...

Should have said they are about 2 gallons in size. I will get inserting the photos correctly one of these days but to be honest I think it shows I am not perfect.

Re: Show us your kitchen compost container
Nothing fancy about ours, just an old 5-gallon bucket sitting outside the kitchen door. I put a thin layer of pine pellets on the bottom to absorb the water and provide carbon to offset the vegetable greens. All of the kitchen scraps go into the bucket, and every 2 or 3 days I dump it into the compost tumbler.
