Re: What Was Your Favorite Thing To Grow
For me, hands down, tomatoes. I remember my Dad telling stories of me when I was little and I'd go missing at my Gma & Gpa's house, they'd find me in the tomato garden, covered in dirt/mud, eating tomatoes off the vine. I may not be covered in dirt/mud when I do it, but I'm still the little tomato freak from way back when.
The other plant that I was most proud of was my beans. I grew them for my hubby and he enjoyed having them cooked down to the flavor of canned beans.. I enjoyed them fresh and crisp with a little salt. I also grew some calico beans, and they DO come in late. They grew and grew and grew, and some pods had to be picked early, but otherwise it was the end of the season before I had a canning jar full, and that was it! I haven't cooked them yet, but I will one day.
I truly enjoyed my pepper plants too. They did better than expected and I was able to can a few of those decorative jars with them for use in my pasta salad I make. Can wait to start my garden this year, it was one hell of a year after August for me last year, and I all but disappeared from here. Can't wait to read and catch up on stuff.

So glad to see you back Kimbertangleknot. back
Sorry it was a bad time for you after August, but hope everything is going well now.
There is always this year to play catch up in the forum and the garden.

I think I most enjoy the things I eat right off the vine. Husky Cherry tomatoes. Sugar Snap Peas. Hillbilly tomatoes. My mouth is watering... Where is spring?

What is your favourite thing to grow
I love garden fresh cucumbers and to me my garden isn't a success unless I have fresh cucumbers. Last year my cat destroyed my cucumber patch so I was quite disappointed. I have been wanting to try growing cucumbers up a trellis for a few years now and I've seen some wonderful pictures people have posted that are very encouraging.
I also love tomatoes from the garden, I actually didn't like tomatoes until I had tasted one fresh from the garden.

I am with Tomatoes too - but I also love Okra and my fresh herbs (oragano, thyme, rosemary, parsley, cilantro) - there is something great about wander outside with my scissors in my hand and snipping the herbs that I am about to cook with - mmm - oh, and brocolli - so sweet
