Weather
82 and sunny for daughter's charity event. Next week, when the h.s. football players are scheduled to haul rocks, chips, and manure for my new BTE garden, it's gonna get down to the 50s and rain for 4 days. Nights down to 40-41. WAAAAAAAAA!!!!!
Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
Weird. This was just supposed to be a reply in the weather thread. I guess they threw me out of that one for complaining all the time.
Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
Hey, look at the bright side of it then. They won't get too hot and they get a free shower out of the deal!

If this had been a show, I'd say it's a wrap.
19" of heavy, wet, slippery snow.
The temperature is about 10°F higher than this morning.

Not here. Rain is lighter but that wind is still howling! Dont' know where my SFG window covers are...all over the neighborhood most likely. My little plants are getting a taste of what it's like to live on the Cape. I guess I'll go start some tomato seeds so they can soon join in the fun.

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
I have probably spoke to soon. The temps are dropping and the snow has picked up some. The surfaces have warmed some but if they cool at all we will be tacking on added amounts of snow.

Over the last few weeks it has been too hot for gardening but thankfully we are now entering autumn and tomorrow April the 2nd it will be a nice 25 degrees C.

No sun for me. Thunderstorms here and more moving this way. The garden loves all the rain though and I don't have to water.

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
Did you ever see the movie "Sybil" with Sally Field. She had something like 18 personalities. She was sane compared to our weather.
At the moment, it is a nice, dry, low humidity 80 degrees--a picture-perfect day. This morning we awoke with temperatures in the low 40's and needed heat, and now the A/C is on.
There is a severe thunderstorm heading this way from Arkansas that is rapidly approaching Memphis. It should reach Nashville by 1 AM, and that means our weather radio will be waking us up all night. It cries wolf a lot, so you don't know whether to believe what it says. They closed schools here last week for almost certain tornadic activity, and all we got was 3 minutes of soaking rain and two thunder claps.
The rest of the week will be warm and humid, but at the end of the week, a cold snap could threaten a bit of patchy frost. Our average last frost date for the city is April 5, and where we live it is more like March 29.
Our actual last frost here was at the end of February, which was also our last freeze. The chances of having another frost after the end of February is about 98%, so I am not believing that that once every 49 years is this year. I can just see it now. We will have a late frost after the summer season crops are in the ground. The latest frost we have had was April 29, not counting 1816, the year without summer.

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
I send you warm vibes up there. Your weather does not pick and choose--everybody gets the snow.
Since my vibes aren't probably all that fresh and perky, maybe you should make some hot soup or stew just to play it safe.

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
We're having it all! Cold temps (low 40s), rain (almost 2"), wind (40mph gusts), hail, thunder & lightning, and now the power is out.
Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
Sunny, forties and fifties in the days ahead. Looks like a great time to plant out more cold starts and play in the compost pile. And to bring out and hook up the hose.

For the next ten days, Highs between 68 and 82. The next two nights down to 45. Then no more season extension for my few early planted tomato plants and corn because lows between 54 to 57.

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
There were several gusts of 50 mph+ yesterday.
The very top of a nearby giant juniper tree broke yesterday, and I saw a couple of good-sized branches of other trees that had blown off.
The media reported that some 100-foot pines were lost.
28F this morning, with a flurry overnight. Additional snow showers are expected over the next several days, mixed with periods of rain. Lows tonight are predicted to be in the low to mid-20s.

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
This is prolly the best 5 day stretch of the year so far and may be till late fall. very low humidity for us and wonderful clear blue and breezy. yesterday I got hte grass cut and the 4x12 box almost all planted. fore I could plant though we harvested a dish pan crowned over with carrots not bad for 2x6 section. Only thing left to plant is some peppers.

Another beautiful day here. Current temperature is 63F with an overnight low of 54F expected. Yesterday was an amazing 80F. Cooler temperatures are on the way for Sunday.

I really hate to admit it, but I'm kinda looking forward to a poopy weather weekend. Sometimes it's just nice to hole up and not do a whole lot :0

I heard it was suppose to snow in WY so makes sense you may get it also. Enjoy your poopy weekend. I really enjoy Jan and Feb when there isn't anything to do in the yard or SFG, except snip brassicas and herbs for dinner.RoOsTeR wrote:Winter is supposed to pay us a visit with snow and freezing temps here in Colorado!

Everybody doesn't get the snow. Remember you've got the Hawaii contingent here. temp in the morning in the low 70's and going into the 80's today.
