Hello from LIVERPOOL ENGLAND
Hi all
After years and years of gardening in are back garden, and we love it so much. We were running out of space.
So we have now got an allotment.
Where we can grow a lot more flowers and vegetables and fruit, and we have up to now put up 2 big greenhouses and a big shed,
As you need some where to make a drink and cook, and when it rains somewhere to shelter, or just sit and read a book.
And now we have just started to build a potting shed combined with tool shed and toilet and that is nearly built now.
Then next project is a chicken coop and chicken run. There was a chicken coop on the plot when we took it over but very run down so we will have to rebuild from scratch.
We have been taking photos of the progress we have done nearly every weekend. And we have put them all on photobucket. We got the allotment near the end of September 2012.

Re: Hello from LIVERPOOL ENGLAND
Hi you two welcome board .
Are you going to do your lotty using the " All new square foot gardening way " or use the old row and big beds jobby ?
Perhaps spend a few days going through the site there is some really useful info in it.
I used to have 1.26 acres under flowers & veg but had to move on as I got injured & older.
Around 1997 I came across the original square foot gardening book . That saw me dig a three foot deep trench ( six in fact ) 15 mtrs long with a 12 tonne excavator and refill them wilth premium home made compost and soil . Had some very good crops out of it much to the envy of my arable farming neighbours & friends .
When I moveed here to Wales I carried on with it and chanced to find this site . I'm glad I did for not using mother earth and having raised beds filled with Mels Mix has really turned my 50 yrs or so of gardening upside down and given me bigger better crops as well as a much easier way of gardening..
If you don't have the book that most of us run with the details are in my strap line .
There is however a new edition called " All New Square Foot Gardening second edition " , available for about £12. 90 inc p&p as a pre order on Amazon ... due out 22 Feb according to my email notification.
catch you around
