Re: Anyone from England UK
hubby helped me build a 10foot x 4 foot bed last spring which I grew lettuce, onions and carrots in....beetroots failed and I lost leeks to pigeons....then after I'd planted up the newly prepared bed I found the sfg site and began reading up on it. This year I'm late in getting things planted but I have runner beans in and growing well and a cucumber, 3 different types of tomatoes to plant in too. up until October I also had an allotment but the site was very small and totally open to vandalism and what wasn't stomped on was stolen so I gave it up and am on a waiting list for a lovely site not too far from me. I'd say what I have planted so far is growing well. I have potatoes to go in..very late but they'll be nice autumn and into christmas I hope I also will plant lettuce and various other salad crops and marigolds etc in spare spots. I'm hoping to learn on a steep curve now I've found this forum

Hi and welcome. I used to live at RAF Croughton, Northants. Pop on over to the European regional forum and you'll find some fellow gardeners in the UK. They will have information on where to obtain vermiculite so you can mix up your Mels Mix soil and other sources for UK gardens. Have you read the ALL NEW SQUARE FOOT GARDENING book. If not try to obtain a copy. It details the method we are all using.

Welcome, my familys roots are in Paston. Barkie is a real regular in here he is from Wales. If you put UK gardener or something similar in the google box to the upper left a few good hits from Uk folks will be returned.

Re: Anyone from England UK
Hello Elaine and Sweetpea and to the forum. We all have a good laugh as well help each other. Nice to see some more uk people here I hope you'll become regulars.
We like to see pics BTW.
I'm from Yorkshire originally but I've been living in Wales for several years now. I'm sorting out a new garden and just finished setting up my first sqf bed which is 8 x 3 and 9" deep today. I'm looking forward to filling it with plants! I have gardened before but I've never had enough room to grow much veg or herbs and had no room for fruit in the past.
How did you manage in the heatwave? We only had rain once in April.
