I went to the Ft. Lee Army Post Exchange today and found (and bought, needless to say) 3 Vacation Drip Watering Kits. Each kit contains 60 ft tubing, all of the connectors, even the timer/flow regulator. 9v battery not included. Will drip water a 4 x 4 bed with a few emitters left over and two misting heads. Price?? $12.97each. YIPES!!!!!

That sounds great. I just looked it up and I really like their website and their drip kit selection guide. I might just use them when I actually put in my drip system.

Hopefully someone can answer my question. How do you choose the correct emitter? Emitters are based on how many gallons they drip in one hour but which plants need more or less? Is it acceptible to just use the half gallon per hour emitters for all plants or will some plants need more or less than that?

The set up I got has 14 1/2gph emitters and 6 1gph emitters. I'd be interested in the answer to Houston's question. The company sells all sorts of add-ons, etc. so I'm sure I can get more 1 gph emitters if I need them.

It took me a while to wrap my head around how to set it up but it's installed in my 4 x 4. I need to put a washer in the pressure regulator but..... Of course, I was doing this in 90+ degree weather.

I'm pleased so......

I'm lucky , the micro water dispenser heads I've got are adjustable from a fine spray mist to a set of jets to a few dribbbles as each one has an on / off tap that you can adjust to regulate the delivery of water . They work best of full water pressure but if the source water in the container is clean and lidded they can be plumbed into a large gravity tank instead and still work fairly well

All I need to do is keep out the way when the timer switches on otherwise I get a soaking .

There are some that you screw in the top of the head to control the flow /delivery but I've not found them satisfactory.

Please do let us know how you get on with the set you have purchased .

Here is a picture of one of the jets out of the range of the jets I have .. made by a company called " hozelock " This one is on full mains pressure heads , the coloured spray head indicates the max volume of water that can pass through in a given time.

Water delivered can be drips , jets , a directional fan shape or a full 360 degrees .
