Fresh Broccoli
Just finished my first EVER totally fresh organic broccoli. 30 minutes from garden to table and not a blemish on it. Boy was it ever good !!

Re: Fresh Broccoli
There wasn't a whole lot. I have 4 plants and there was one good sized flower head on each one. I'm hoping they do the side shoot thing and I get lots more.. I'm sure if the weather starts warming up too much the bugs will be a problem but so far the winter has been just cold enough to deter them.

Re: Fresh Broccoli
You should get lots of side shoots soon. Just be sure to harvest them before it gets too hot or the broccoli will go to seed. Enjoy.

Re: Fresh Broccoli
My broccoli is starting to form heads right now and the timing couldn't be better as we have cooler temps in the forecast for the next week...60s and rainy. We've been in the upper 80s a lot, so I'm excited that the heads are forming in the midst of a cool spell and I won't have to worry about them bolting on me.
But we also don't have anything below 50 in the forecast, so it's really beginning to look like my tomatoes will make it through the winter and I'll be enjoying them all spring!
