Hi!

I live in south-central Texas and have not had any success with a garden since I moved here over 15 years ago. I'm from NC and had a wonderful garden in Chapel Hill and then when I moved to the mountains. I don't think I've learned how to deal with the hot summers here, but after doing some reading, have hope that SFG will be a good solution.

I've read a good bit here and am impressed by what you've all accomplished. I'm sure I'll learn a lot and maybe be ready when spring comes again.

Welcome!! I wish you lots of luck! There are a couple of "regulars" from Tx and I'm sure they will be willing to offer you some advice. If not, I have some experience with hot summers and I'd be glad to help.

SFG has been wonderful for me and my family. Be sure to read the book. I need to read it again and refresh everything again.

I am relitavely new as well but you will find everyone is VERY helpfull and supportable. Best forum I have ever been on.

Currently live in Pa but did live in Alabama for 5 years. On the bright side you have a much longer growing season for summer crops, sometimes two plantings if you start early enough. However the waterring could be a problem but with MM it should be less.

How much area do you have and have you even started? Buy his book and read through it as it will save you double work.

Keep posting!!!!!!!! study study

Welcome! I am originally from Texas, and still have family there in Austin, Bastrop, and Dallas.
I am new to the SQF scene as well, but there is just a wealth of information here and very helpful, intelligent members to boot!
Enjoy Wink
