Re: Has anyone attended the SFG seminars?
If you are talking about the 3-day teacher symposium, yes, they are worth it . . . IF you already have a basic knowledge of the SFG method. It is NOT so much learning HOW to do SFG, they assume that you already know how, but is for those who want to learn how to share SFG with others - informally with neighbors or professionally.
Of course they DO have you build boxes, make Mel's Mix, plant, etc. so you WILL learn SFG the way Mel intended AND demonstrate to them that you can TEACH the method correctly.
I started with the correspondence course while I was in Germany but jumped at the chance to go to Eden, UT last Fall. It was GREAT to get with others, build friendships, hone my SFG skills, get SUPER MOTIVATED and make contacts with people from the SFG Foundation. PLUS it was just plain FUN!
I'll be hosting the Baltimore symposium in August.

I have seen women looking at jewelry ads with a misty eye and one hand resting on the heart, and I only know what they're feeling because that's how I read the seed catalogs in January - Barbara Kingsolver - Animal, Vegetable, Miracle

My husband and I attended the Columbia Symposium in April and it was 100% worth going to. You get first hand information, time to learn in a garden setting, the group learning environment, etc.

Howdy Pam:
TWO THUMBS way up for the 3 day seminars. My wife and I attended the Vermont 2010 Teachers Symposium. What a wonderful experience. We went there for our 25th wedding anniversary and loved every minute of it.
God Bless, Ward and Mary
