Safer Soap Concentrate
Anyone use Safer soap for insecticide and fungicide? I saw that they have liquid concentrate on the internet for around $14, but none of them ship to Hawaii. Anyone know where I could get one? Buying individual bottles gets expensive...

Re: Safer Soap Concentrate
I myself use Dr. Bronner's liquid castille soaps. I started using them for my sons, their hands would have reactions to other store bought soaps. Then I learned I could make my own all purpose cleaners with it. When I started gardening I found that you could use insecticidal soap, and being the ever want to save a buck gal and do it myself I found a recipe for insecticidal soap. I use what "flavor" of soap on hand for my soap mixtures. I keep a jar in the garden shed.

Careful with this recipe -- read all the posts below it. You may want to adjust the proportion of soap to water.

Re: Safer Soap Concentrate
Junequilt thank you so much for pointing that out. I use a tablespoon in a quart spray bottle, I spray it on my hand to make sure it isnt too soapy. I also spray when the sun is setting, no chance for heat to help it along. I dont spray every day only when I see some critters.

Dr Bronner
I didn't know you can use Dr. Bronner's. I actually have some that I use for camping. Great stuff.
Good information, I'll try it at low concentrations.

Re: Safer Soap Concentrate
I'm pretty surprised- I tried the Safer concentrate (diluted) today on my tomatoes & peppers which all have whiteflies, but not a big infestation, and several hours later when I checked my plants I didn't see ANY! The directions say to apply several days later for any new hatched critters, but so far I am really impressed.
