New to SFG in NC
We are just getting started in SFG but have done some research and planning. Now, we are just waiting for it to warm up enough to plant! Lurking and learning till then.

Hello, hello, hello! Welcome to SFG. While you're lurking and learning you can get busy building.
What kind of boxes are you planning? How many? How big? Have you read the book?
The excitement of spring is so contagious!
Happy planning

Re: New to SFG in NC
Hi rebrev... where abouts in NC? I'm in Rock Hill SC (just below Charlotte) and wondering if it's ever going to warm up... have ya'll had a snowy winter like us?
I'd be fun to compare notes since I'm just starting too.

Re: New to SFG in NC
Hi, Kimbies. We are in Eastern NC but we have had a LOT of cold this winter. It is starting to warm up now and we are very thankful. Until this week, I think we only had one day over 60 deg since Christmas. Hopefully, it has been cold enough, long enough to kill some pests and parasites.
We've got the soil ready but haven't got anything in the ground (except potatoes) yet. Hope it goes well for ya!

Re: New to SFG in NC
Thank you mckr3441! We are going to plant directly in the ground (no boxes) - sort of a modified SFG. We are building beehives right now as well, so can't have too many "construction" projects going at once. We have great soil and relatively plenty of room. Right now we are planning three 4x12 plots. With some rotation for the fall, that should give us more than enough space. May expand to 4 before all is said and done.
