Artichoke & Kale
I'm starting these from seed in a south-facing window. The temp will never drop below 70 -- high 70s during the day. Do I need to put them on a heating pad?

That's what I thought, too, and my research says the artichoke seedlings like it cold (40) so I'm thinking they wouldn't need warm soil to sprout, either. I also know they take forever, so it could be weeks before I know if I'm going to get anything from them.
Re: Artichoke & Kale
S -- you asked about artichoke seeds in another thread, but I can't find it, so I'm posting here. Artichoke seeds are big enough to handle easily, but small enough to grow in a standard Jiffy Pellet. Here's one next to my small thumb.sanderson wrote:Don't know about the artichokes but the kale should do fine.
