Baby Persian Cucumbers. parthenocarpic so I did not have to wait for a male/female etc.  5 little cucumbers in this one shot.

brooks, GA - 2018/2019 SFG in Brooks, GA - Page 9 Cucumb10

My first potato havested to see what was going on down below.  This is a Russet Norkotah and is supposed to be a baking potato.  But the plants are starting to die so they won't get much bigger.  I think they were planted in too much shade.  Very small compared to previous years.  I will wait to harvest the rest until the tops die back (which will be soon).

Harvested half of my onions.  Also small.  They were shaded by my Alaska Peas on one side and a dogwood tree on the other side.

brooks, GA - 2018/2019 SFG in Brooks, GA - Page 9 3170584802 Those potatoes look soooo good to me. I once had some red ones of all different sizes and I swear they were the best I ever tasted. I sauteed the babies and roasted the "bigger" ones with other veggies. Just a question about the Persian cucumbers. Can the skins be eaten?

Yes, the skins can be eaten.  They are smooth and thin and I never peel them.  My almost 2 year old grandson eating one.  Except he spits out the skin so I have to peel them partially for him.

He also likes Juliet grape tomatoes but also spits out the skins.

Harvest has started with some good results.  Harvested these potatoes today.  About 1/4 are good size baking potatoes.  About 1/4 are small size baking tomatoes.  About 1/2 are small and I can use to cook with my green beans or cut up for roasting potatoes or mashed potatoes.  I harvested them a little early due to the fact they were planted in a shady spot and also it rained 7 inches in the past week and I was afraid they would rot.

Yesterday harvested a few things to give to a friend of mine.
brooks, GA - 2018/2019 SFG in Brooks, GA - Page 9 Harves10

My Corn that has the earliest DTM has already silked and pollen is dropping.  Except, with all the rain I am not sure how much landed on the silks.  I tried to help by hand pollination, so we shall see.

I bought my seed potatoes at a store that was going out of business -- for 90% off. I guess that hurt their little feelings, cuz not one of them came up. Sad Like TD with the corn, I will have to enjoy potatoes vicariously through your success. Fewer calories that way at least. Razz

Just harvested my first bush beans of the season.  I hate bush beans and forgot why I haven't planted them in so long.  Tuff to bend over and  look for the beans but I was trying to get early season beans.  My zucchini was a little over grown.

First harvest of Rattlesnake Beans.  I could not believe how many beans were ready to harvest when I started Wed evening.  I had to continue harvesting Thursday morning.  I harvested 13 pounds of Rattlesnake beans Wed evening and Thurs morning.  Blanching and flash freezing then sealing in Food Saver Bags.

Harvest Wed evening

Wonderful tomatoes, corn and harvest, especially the potatoes, tomatoes and beans.  13# of Rattlesnake!!  Shocked

I picked and processed for freezing 2 1/2 pounds of bush Blue Lakes (from a 2' high table top).  Less than 1/2 lb. each of Rattlesnake and Dragon Tongue.

Tomatoes are starting to come in faster than we can eat them.  Having to give away a lot this year.

On Wed night and Thur morning I harvested 13 lbs of Rattlesnake Beans.  Today, 5 days later, I harvested another 10 lbs.  That is a total of 23 lbs so far this summer.  They are pole beans so they should keep producing.  They will slow down a little in the heat of  the summer but then will take off again when it cools off (if I can keep them alive until it cools off).  I average about 3 cups of beans per lb.  I already have 42 cups frozen so I will be able to add approximately an additional 30 cups with todays harvest.
 Todays harvest.

I do  not know.  I have never had Blue Lake.  The disadvantage with Rattlesnakes is they will have strings if you let them get just a little too big.  some say they should be harvested when  they get to the size of a pencil.    But I very rarely get around to harvesting them that small.  So about 1/4 to 1/2 in my harvest will have strings.  The advantage is they continue to set some beans even in hot weather.

Thanks. I rediscovered this year that RS do get strings. But, it just means i have to remove the strings when snapping.

Or - harvest the beans before they get too old/big.

This bed of corn finally matured and the critter sat down to the table last night and pigged out.  Left me two little cobs out of about 32 cobs growing in this bed.

My Second planting of tomatoes.,  The picture only shows about 3 plants but there are actually 8 tomato plants planted in this row.  Gazillion ripe tomatoes on the vines.
brooks, GA - 2018/2019 SFG in Brooks, GA - Page 9 Tomato36
Because we have a lot of tomato diseases I now plant three or four times a season.  I planted the first batch of 6 plants in the SFG on about 4/15.  This second batch of 8 was planted in these pots about 5/15.  I have another planting of 6 plants that were planted 6/15 outside the SFG.  I will probably plant and additional 6 around 7/15.  I have already lost 2 plants from the first planting and one plant from the second planting.   The third planting so far does not show any signs of disease.
