I try plucking the leaves and throw them in the trash, but we have buttercup flowers that I'll pluck, and out of about every 5 leaves that I pluck, the next day 7 more leaves have been infected. They like my tomato leaves too.

Do you use anything to repel or kill leaf miners? Empty Stink Bugs

Post  Rahab222 4/8/2015, 11:26 pm

These are the biggest plague in my garden each year.  I was told that Sevin will kill them if you get them while they are still in the red nymph stage.  Once they reach the adult stage, there's nothing you can do but pick them off by hand and drop them in soapy water.  Houston had a long spring in 2014 and this really helped.  Once the heat and humidity set in, the bugs came.  The Leaf Miners or Stink Bugs ruined my tomatoes from August on.  I've been all organic, but the bazillion pill bugs in my strawberry patches changed my mine on this one.  The pill bugs were eating the berries before I could get to them.  So, much as I hate to, I'll be using Sevin this year.
