Middle South: We've got SNOW!
Woo-hoo! SO much better than ice!
I guess we got between 1/2 & 1 inch. A friend about 1 hour west got between 2 & 3 inches.
How's everyone else doing?

Oh how fun for you! We didn't get snow but our mountains did and we got a LOT of rain (every drop desperately needed!)
Woke this morning to crystal clear blue skies and sunshine. I hope that doesn't last too long... we need the rain more than the sun

Marie, I'll share your little snow fall joy! I'm like a little kid the few hours every decade when we get snow or hail accumulation.
Re: Middle South: We've got SNOW!
We did not get any. Things could change tomorrow. The line tomorrow is going to be from Newnan to Athens. That puts me right on the border. I can do without the stuff. Except I am tired, very tired, of all this rain. Wish we could have some in July. I am afraid my garlic and shallots are to toooooo wet.

Re: Middle South: We've got SNOW!
Thanks Sanderson!
We're expecting anywhere from a trace to another 4 inches within the next 36 hours. Along with ice, sleet, & freezing rain... Yipee...Hope it's just snow...

Re: Middle South: We've got SNOW!
Well, now they're saying we may get 7 inches or so... Not including ice & sleet.
Got everything ready for running the generator again.

I feel for you. Our snow is gone. Keep expecting a bit more but we are running out of time.AtlantaMarie wrote:Well, now they're saying we may get 7 inches or so... Not including ice & sleet.

I think I would like some more snow as overall we have had way below the average. There is a shortage on the mountains and I fear that we are in for a drought this summer, and wildfires in British Columbia.

We are heeding Governor Deal's suggestion to close our office at 2pm and not open again until 10am tomorrow. I still don't think we will get hit but I bet you will.

Re: Middle South: We've got SNOW!
I didn't get snow or sleet down here just below Atlanta. Lots of un-needed rain. I bet AtlantaMarie got some snow. She is north of Atlanta I believe so she may have gotten a bit of the bad stuff. But this year all the governmental agencies were prepared for the worst.

Even though I'm in the Lower South region according to the maps, I am much farther North of you Georgia folks. We got snow, ice and in the teens all this past week.
I was hoping to get out in the yard, but no go.

Re: Middle South: We've got SNOW!
Yes, they were Yolos! I was quite impressed. Especially after last year's fiasco...
Actually we only got a dusting this time, even w/ the ice. It moved north at the last minute.
Had a student here Thursday morning. But we did delay till 10 am instead of 8.
