1/4" soaker lines or drip emitters?

1/4" soaker lines or drip emitters?
As I ponder building my boxes and irrigation I am considering a drip system. I already have timed valve stations in my backyard from a previous in-ground drip garden.
I like the idea of saturation via the small soaker lines.
So I am deciding between soaker, emitter tubing with small spacing, or the standard punch-in emitter with solid tube to each plant.
Maybe a combo depending on what I grow?

Tshred, It's great that you already have the timer system from the previous on-ground drip system. I also had a timer drip system in place when I built my first boxes in March 2013, so all I had to do was use 1/4" solid lines from the perimeter 1/2" solid line to provide water to the boxes.
I only have one 1/4" solid line to the 1/4" dripper grid in each box. The boxes range from 3 to 16 square feet. I use 2 lines of 6" spaced drip/emitter [from Dripworks.com] per square, set 4" apart, resulting in 4 drips per square. I heavily mulch during the scorching hot summer and fall.

Re: 1/4" soaker lines or drip emitters?
This was my set up with 1/4" drip lines. Despite the 12 inch spacing, I didn't see any dry spots that required more lines. I have the ability to add drip emitters but haven't needed.
