poor man's shredder
So far this is working great for me.
Not wanting to have another piece of stuff for my shed I decided to try this.
I'm sure it will only be able to do the soft stuff.
Material to be shredded

An old ice scraper, notice the sharpened edge

Raked it flat, topped with last years leaf mold, all set for another layer..

Re: poor man's shredder
And here I thought ice scrapers were made of plastic! I was wondering how to sharpen them....
Is it possibly a square snow shovel?

Re: poor man's shredder
For sharpening perhaps use a 2nd cut hand file , grindstone or angle grinder with care .

Re: poor man's shredder
A very old scraper, I used it for digging post holes.
Not wanting to purchase a post hole digger for the few holes I needed in the garden I just used this.
Sledged it down (squarely) to where I needed.
Handle's fairly well splintered from hammering, works out great for this project.
