Re: Where are my squash?
At least you know what you will and will not plant next year.
I'll try one zucchini and one yellow crook-necked squash, grown vertically. Waiting for results on my winter spaghetti and butternuts. Cantaloupe vertically is a definite yes.

Re: Where are my squash?
Last year I planted zukes in 5 gallon buckets to save the room in the square foot boxes and it worked good, I got enough to eat but not enough to not know what to do with! You could give that a whirl next year maybe! My favorite way to eat yellow squash it slice and topped with parmesan cheese and baked in the oven, yum.

Re: Where are my squash?
I might try that with patty pan, as I really like those, and their bush habit can be reasonably contained in a five-gallon bucket. Also, I'm definitely going to be trying more self-watering five-gallon buckets next year, and squash is a thirsty beast perfect for those.
However, I probably will use most of those buckets for things other than squash, as the large amount of space and soil I gave over to squash this year was very unproductive.

Re: Where are my squash?
Definitely give pan patty squash a go next year, I'll had good success so far with multiple squashes on all my 4 separate squares. One is in a bucket and it's producing too. I'm with you, I think I will place them all in buckets next time so they don't dominate the beds and suck all the water.

Re: Where are my squash?
Are they really displaying upside down? They appear ok on all my devices.
Reason I ask, quite a few people have said the same thing on other threads and I thought they were joking.

Re: Where are my squash?
Yep, they are upside down. Something is rotating the photos 180*. Probably when they cross the equator, they flip over

That must be it!
