These are a late season June-bearing strawberry, planted last year from crowns. The plants are healthy, green, and taking over the garden, so far two 4x4 boxes and half of a 3rd, and yet, no blossoms. We're approaching mid-May here and they should be producing by June so I'm wondering if there's a problem. Since this is year #2 for at least the mother box, they should produce this year.

Bet they start flowering any minute. Mine started early this week and now they are popping out all over. But I'm usually a week or 2 ahead of the rest of NE.

Did you look way down in to see if there are any buds?

Yeah, things will change a lot between now and mid June. If the plant are looking healthy and good, no worries. The NH COOP Extension service has some info about them.
I think it takes about 3 weeks from bloom to ripe berry. Also, strawberries ripen over the night time, so check your patch in the mornings.

Well, you're right. I checked all the way down to the ground under those leaves and there were the buds forming. Didn't realize they were so low to the ground. Guess that's why they say to hay mulch to keep the strawberries off the ground so they don't rot.
