question about seedlings Empty question about seedlings

Post  jazzycat 5/7/2013, 1:46 pm

I had some seedlings outside hardening off. It started drizzling rain so I went ahead and brought them inside. (They had already been out for a few hours.) Is it OK to put them under HO grow lights when they're wet? I'm thinking, since the sun is more intense, and plants get wet outside when it rains and then dry in the sun that it should be fine, but I thought I would ask anyway.

Thanks!

If it worries you, turn on a fan and they'll dry. I doubt the HO lights would do any damage to wet plants regardless.

Unless the rain turns heavy and the temps drop considerably leave the plants out in the rain & plant them when it fairs up , if they are able to be planted . ie No frost if that is a requirement .
Not only do they get watered , rain also contains all sorts of micro nutrients that are good for plants.

I would have done this, except I'm in the process of hardening them off and it's only the 2nd day, and they are in a very small amount of compost. I wouldn't want to drown them. They will be planted in the next few of days.
